Unattenta

Unattenta is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional region of Valoria, within the country of Selenia. It lies on the southern shore of the Valorian Peninsula and faces the Verne River estuary, where the sea meets a network of tidal channels that back the town's historic harbor.

Covering about 22 square kilometers, Unattenta has a population of roughly 7,500 residents. The built environment combines medieval street patterns with later waterfront development. The climate is temperate Mediterranean, characterized by hot summers and mild, wet winters.

Unattenta was founded in the 12th century by seafaring settlers and grew as a fishing and trading port. Its harbor prospered in the 16th and 17th centuries, which left an architectural legacy including the Old Market and the Seaside Fort. The town experienced decline in the 19th century but recovered during the 20th century with infrastructure improvements and a modest tourism sector.

Today, the economy relies on fishing, fish farming, and small-scale agriculture, with citrus and olive cultivation forming the rural fringe. Tourism centers on coastal scenery, the historic harbor, and cultural events such as the Unattenta Maritime Festival. Local cuisine highlights grilled sardines, seafood stews, and pastry specialties.

Unattenta is governed by a municipal council elected for four-year terms, with a mayor as head of the administration. Public services include local schooling, a hospital clinic, and cultural facilities. Transport connections consist of a regional road network and regular ferry services to the nearby island of Lyria; there is no railway station serving the town.
