Umweltpolitik
Umweltpolitik, or environmental policy, refers to the set of government actions designed to protect the natural environment while supporting sustainable use of resources and human well-being. It covers policy areas such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, air and water protection, waste management, soil and biodiversity conservation, chemical safety, and the promotion of sustainable production and consumption. Environmental policy operates at local, national, and international levels and requires cooperation among ministries, agencies, regional authorities, and international bodies.
Policy instruments include regulatory standards (emission limits, efficiency requirements), economic tools (taxes, subsidies, fees, emission trading),
In Germany and the European Union, Umweltpolitik has evolved from postwar environmental awareness and national regulations
