Umkonfiguration
Umkonfiguration is a term used in German-language contexts to describe the process of altering the arrangement of a system’s components to change its behavior, performance, or compatibility. The prefixed form from um- indicates change or reversal, while Konfiguration refers to the arrangement and interconnection of elements. In information technology, engineering, and production, Umkonfiguration covers both planned redesigns and dynamic adaptations enacted during operation.
