Ulriche is a fictional city-state in the imagined continent of Veridia, introduced for world-building and storytelling. It functions as a major urban and commercial hub with a long maritime tradition and a blend of architectural styles.

The name Ulriche derives from the local Ulrician language, combining elements meaning "wolf" and "ruler" and reflecting a historic branding as a city of guardians.

Ulriche sits on a crescent harbor along Veridia’s western coast, facing the Grey Strait. The temperate climate supports rich vineyards and fisheries, while defensive walls and a chain of quays anchor its trade.

Founded as a trading outpost in the 11th century, Ulriche grew into a self-governing city-state. It developed a merchant republic and participated in regional alliances. In the 14th century, it faced conflicts with neighboring powers but preserved autonomy through diplomacy and naval power. In the modern era, it diversified into industry and services and remains a symbolic center of Veridian commerce.

Ulriche is a republic led by a City Council and a magistrate elected for five-year terms. Executive power is limited by a judicial council and municipal assemblies that debate laws and budgets.
