Udførende

Udførende is a Danish present participle of the verb udføre, meaning to perform, execute, or carry out. As an adjective it describes someone or something that performs the action described by the verb, and it is most often found in compounds such as udførende kunstner, meaning a performing artist. The ending -ende marks the present participle, while the prefix ud- is part of the verb udføre.

In modern Danish, the term udøvende kunstner or optrædende kunstner is more commonly used to denote a performer; udførende is therefore relatively rare and tends to appear in formal, legal, or older texts to designate the performing party in a work or contract. It can also appear in non-art contexts to mean someone who carries out a specified task.

Grammatical usage: udførende functions as an attributive descriptor: en udførende kunstner; or predicative after a linking verb: kunstneren er udførende. The word is not typically used as a standalone noun; its use as a noun would be uncommon.
