USACC

The United States Army Cadet Command (USACC), formerly known as the U.S. Army Cadet Corps, is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army responsible for overseeing the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program. Established in 1916, the USACC supports the development of leadership, discipline, and citizenship among high school students across the United States and its territories.

The JROTC program, administered by USACC, is a federally chartered program that operates in public and private high schools. It provides students with instruction in military history, leadership, physical fitness, and citizenship, while also offering opportunities for college scholarships and potential commissioning into the U.S. Army as officers. The program is taught by retired military officers, known as instructors, who are appointed by the U.S. Army.

USACC also manages the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) program, which is a college-based officer development program. While ROTC operates independently from JROTC, USACC provides administrative support and coordination for both programs. The Army ROTC program allows college students to earn a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation, subject to meeting academic and physical standards.

The USACC headquarters is located at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and it oversees a network of regional offices and JROTC units nationwide. The command plays a key role in fostering partnerships between the military and educational institutions to promote national security, leadership, and community service. Through its programs, USACC continues to inspire young people to serve their country and develop the skills necessary for future leadership roles.
