UNECEsäädökset refers to regulations and standards developed by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). These regulations aim to promote harmonization and simplification of technical requirements for vehicles and their components. The UNECE develops these regulations under the framework of international agreements, most notably the 1958 Agreement concerning the Adoption of Uniform Technical Prescriptions for Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and Parts which may be fitted and/or be used on Wheeled Vehicles.

These regulations cover a wide range of aspects, including vehicle safety, environmental protection, and the approval of vehicle parts. For example, they might specify requirements for braking systems, lighting, emissions, noise levels, or the installation of specific equipment. When a country adopts a UNECE regulation, it means that vehicles and components manufactured to meet these specific technical prescriptions are recognized as compliant within that country.
