Türoidiit
Türoidiit refers to inflammation of the thyroid gland. There are several types of thyroiditis, each with its own causes and characteristics. Common forms include Hashimoto's thyroiditis, a chronic autoimmune condition where the body's immune system attacks the thyroid, leading to its gradual destruction. Subacute thyroiditis, often caused by a viral infection, typically presents with neck pain and tenderness, and can cause temporary hyperthyroidism followed by hypothyroidism. Postpartum thyroiditis can occur in women after childbirth and is also thought to be autoimmune. Acute thyroiditis is rarer and usually results from a bacterial infection, causing severe neck pain, fever, and swelling.
