Tööterapiaga

Tööterapiaga, often translated as occupational therapy, is a health profession focused on enabling people of all ages to participate in the activities they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations). Occupational therapists help people overcome barriers to participation in their daily lives. These barriers can be physical, psychological, social, or environmental.

The core of occupational therapy is to understand how a person's occupations – their daily activities such as self-care, work, education, leisure, and social participation – are affected by the presence of a health condition, injury, or disability. Therapists work with individuals, families, and communities to identify goals and develop strategies to achieve them.

Occupational therapy interventions are client-centered and can include adapting the environment, modifying tasks, teaching new skills, providing assistive devices, and advocating for the client. The aim is to promote health and well-being, improve functional independence, and enhance overall quality of life. Therapists work in various settings, including hospitals, schools, rehabilitation centers, community agencies, and private practices.
