Tähemärgile

Tähemärgile is an Estonian term that translates to "zodiac sign" in English. It refers to one of the twelve astrological divisions of the ecliptic, each occupied by a constellation. These signs are determined by the position of the sun at the time of a person's birth. The concept of zodiac signs originates from ancient Babylonian astrology and has since been adopted and adapted by various cultures and belief systems worldwide.

Each tähemärk is associated with specific personality traits, characteristics, and potential life paths. The twelve signs are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. These are traditionally linked to the four elements: fire, earth, air, and water, with each element encompassing three zodiac signs. For example, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius are fire signs, while Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn are earth signs.

Astrology uses tähemärgid to interpret horoscopes and make predictions about an individual's future or understand their character. The position of other celestial bodies, such as the moon and planets, in relation to these zodiac signs at the time of birth is also considered significant in a more detailed astrological analysis, often referred to as a birth chart or natal chart.
