Társasházban

Társasházban refers to living in a condominium or apartment building in Hungarian. It describes the type of dwelling where individual apartments are owned by different people, but the common areas such as stairwells, roofs, and land are jointly owned and managed by the residents. The ownership structure is regulated by Hungarian law, specifically the Act on Condominiums (Társasházi törvény).

In a társasház, each apartment owner is responsible for the maintenance of their own unit. However, they also contribute to the upkeep and management of the shared spaces through regular maintenance fees. These fees are typically determined based on the size of the individual apartment and are paid to a jointly managed fund. A resident representative or a professional property manager is usually appointed to oversee the building's operations, including repairs, cleaning of common areas, and financial administration. Decisions regarding the building are made collectively by the owners, often in scheduled meetings where voting rights are exercised. Living in a társasház implies shared responsibility and cooperation among the residents for the benefit of the entire building.
