Tárolóegységei, which translates to "storage units" in English, refers to the physical or logical components within a computer system used for retaining data. These units vary widely in their characteristics, including speed, capacity, cost, and volatility.

The most common primary storage unit is Random Access Memory (RAM). RAM is volatile, meaning its contents are lost when power is removed, but it offers very fast read and write speeds, making it ideal for actively used programs and data.

Secondary storage units are non-volatile and designed for long-term data retention. Examples include Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), which use spinning platters and magnetic heads to store data, and Solid State Drives (SSDs), which use flash memory for significantly faster access times and greater durability than HDDs. Other forms of secondary storage include optical drives (CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays) and magnetic tapes, though these are less common in modern personal computing.

Tertiary storage, often used for archival purposes, typically involves slower, cheaper, and higher-capacity media, sometimes with robotic mechanisms for retrieval. Network-attached storage (NAS) and cloud storage solutions also represent forms of tárolóegységei, allowing data to be accessed over a network or the internet, respectively, abstracting the underlying physical hardware. The choice of tárolóegységei significantly impacts a computer's performance, reliability, and overall cost.
