Tystnat is a fictional mineral species used in geology education and science fiction world-building. It is not part of formal mineral nomenclature and has no verified specimens in the real world.

In fictional descriptions, tystnat is described as a silicate carbonate with a vitreous to pearly luster, ranging in color from blue to violet and transparent to translucent. It is said to crystallize in the monoclinic system, forming prismatic crystals and fibrous aggregates. Reported refractive indices are approximately 1.62 to 1.70, and the Mohs hardness is placed around 6.5 to 7.

The lore places tystnat in ultramafic to metamorphic rocks of a fictional region called the Tystnad Terrane, where it is associated with minerals such as magnetite, amphibole, and calcite. A type specimen is described as having been found during a 1980s expedition by a geologist named Elena Korsak, in a skarn deposit. The name is said to derive from a local language term meaning silence, chosen to evoke the quiet conditions of the quarry where it was first described.
