The form is commonly used with an indirect object indicating the recipient, for example kepada kami or kepada teman-teman.

There is a related verb, menuturkan, formed with the prefix me-, meaning to narrate or relate, typically in neutral or formal contexts. Imperative forms include tuturkan and tuturkanlah, used to prompt someone to relay information or events.
