Turuhindar

Turuhindar is a fictional sovereign state located in the Turik Ocean, consisting of twelve main islands and several islets. With a land area of about 28,000 square kilometers and a population near 2.3 million, it has a diverse coastline and interior highlands. Velora is the capital and the seat of government; Port Akan is the largest urban center and major commercial port. Geography includes volcanic highlands, mangrove belts, and coral reefs; the climate is tropical in the lowlands and temperate in the highlands.

Historically, Turuhindar developed from coastal chiefdoms that formed a loose federation in the 14th century. It maintained trade networks across the Dravan Sea and experienced periods of external influence before adopting a constitutional republic in the mid-20th century.

Turuhindar operates as a parliamentary republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The unicameral legislature has 90 seats. The constitution guarantees civil liberties and pluralism.

Economy centers on fisheries, shipping, and tourism, supplemented by light manufacturing and agriculture. The currency is the Turuhindari lira (THR). Major exports include reef fish, canned seafood, spices, and timber.

Education is universal, and research institutions include the Turuhindar National University and several marine-science centers. The country hosts annual cultural festivals such as the Festival of Winds and the Coral Days.

Turuhindar is known for its multilingual society, with Turuhindari as the de facto official language and widespread use of English and regional languages in coastal communities.
