Tuohynõel

Tuohynõel is a small, uninhabited island located in the Gulf of Finland. It is part of Estonia and falls under the administrative jurisdiction of the municipality of Viimsi Parish, Harju County. The island is situated approximately 2.5 kilometers south of the Estonian mainland coast and is part of the landscape protection area of the Tallinn Bay.

The island is characterized by its rocky shores and sparse vegetation, typical of many small islands in the Baltic Sea. Its size is relatively modest, with a land area of around 1.5 hectares. Due to its remote location and lack of permanent inhabitants, Tuohynõel has largely retained its natural state. The surrounding waters are shallow and are often used by local fishermen. The island's name, Tuohynõel, translates from Estonian to "birch needle," likely referencing its shape or the presence of birch trees in the past.

Access to Tuohynõel is generally by small boat, and it is not a common tourist destination.
