They focus on what needs to be accomplished, measured by specific metrics or key performance indicators (KPIs). The emphasis is on the observable and verifiable output or impact.

These requirements are often used in project management, software development, and public policy to define success. Instead of stating "the system must process 100 transactions per second," a tulemusnõue might state "the system must support a peak transaction rate of 100 transactions per second with an average response time of under 2 seconds." This allows for flexibility in how the performance target is achieved, encouraging innovation and optimization.

The advantage of tulemusnõudeid is that they provide clear targets for evaluation and can adapt more easily to technological advancements. They can be more challenging to define and measure precisely, as they require careful selection of appropriate metrics and validation methods. However, when well-defined, they lead to solutions that are more aligned with overarching goals and stakeholder expectations.
