Tuhoreiden

Tuhoreiden, also known as Pacific Kelpfish or Japanese Needlefish, are a species of needlefish found in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. They belong to the family Syngnathidae, which includes a diverse group of fish often referred to as pipefishes and seadragons.

Tuhoreiden typically inhabit shallow waters, frequently near coral reefs or kelp forests, where they can be found schooling in large numbers. They feed on small crustaceans, zooplankton, and other tiny invertebrates, which are caught using their sharp, needle-like teeth.

One notable characteristic of the tuhoreiden is its ability to create a Mucus-like substance, which helps them to glide through the water with little resistance. This substance can also aid in deterring predators.

The tuhoreiden's body is slender and elongated, with a long snout that helps them navigate through dense marine vegetation. Adults typically range in length from 10 to 15 centimeters, with their dorsal fin set far back on their body, close to the tail.

In some parts of the Pacific, the tuhoreiden is considered a game fish, and anglers seek to catch them using small baitfish and perfect lure corrections. However, they are also of interest to scientists studying the unique adaptations and behaviors of these fascinating creatures.
