TubelessSysteme refers to tire systems that operate without an inner tube by creating and maintaining an airtight seal between the tire and the rim. In these systems, a tubeless-ready rim works with a compatible tubeless tire, a rim tape to seal spoke holes, and a sealing valve. A liquid sealant is typically added inside the tire to seal small punctures and aid in rapid sealing during riding or operation.

How tubeless systems work centers on the bead and the rim bed. The tire bead must create an airtight seal against the rim bead seat, while the rim tape covers any potential leaks from spoke holes. When air is pumped in, the tire bead expands and seals. If the tire is punctured, the sealant can seal many small holes automatically, reducing air loss and allowing continuation with reduced speed or distance.

Advantages of tubeless systems include reduced risk of pinch flats, lower rolling resistance, the ability to run lower tire pressures for better traction, and fewer frequent tube-related punctures. They also enable easier use of wider tires in certain applications. However, there are limitations: compatibility requirements between rims and tires, ongoing maintenance of sealant and rim tape, and occasional reseating or remounting challenges after flat events. Sealant intervals vary by product and climate, and some punctures may still require tube replacement or professional service.
