Tsütokinees is a lesser-known traditional game originating from the indigenous communities of the Koryak people, who reside in the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia. The game is played during winter festivals and celebrations, often as part of cultural rituals or competitions. Its name derives from the Koryak language, where "tsüto" refers to a type of sled or sled runner, and "kinees" translates to "race" or "contest."

The game typically involves two teams competing in a relay-style race using specially designed sleds made from wood and animal hides. Each sled is pulled by a team of dogs, usually Siberian huskies or similar breeds, which are well-suited to the harsh Arctic conditions. The sleds are lightweight and streamlined, allowing for speed and agility on snow-covered terrain. Participants often wear traditional attire, including fur-lined garments and head coverings, to protect against the cold.

Tsütokinees is not merely a physical contest but also carries cultural significance. It reflects the Koryak people’s deep connection to their environment and their reliance on dogs for transportation, hunting, and survival.
