Tsükliajadet

Tsükliajadet is a term used in theoretical modeling to denote a cyclic sequence structure that encodes periodic behavior in finite systems. In its simplest form, a tsükliajadet is a directed cycle with N states s0, s1, ..., s(N-1) connected by edges si -> s(i+1 mod N). The system moves deterministically from one state to the next, producing a repeating sequence of states with period N.

Variants of the concept include labeled or weighted cycles, where transitions carry costs or labels used to represent timing, resources, or inputs. In such a variant, a tsükliajadet may be viewed as a finite automaton whose underlying graph is a single cycle; the exact behavior is determined by the labeling or cost function applied to the transitions.

Construction and properties: The cycle is invariant under rotation; starting from any state, the trajectory traverses all N states before repeating. If multiple cycles are combined, they can form a set of interlinked tsükliajadet, modeling modular timing or parallel cyclic processes. Extensions may add optional branching, timing constraints, or interaction with external processes while preserving the cyclic backbone.

Applications: tsükliajadet models are used to represent periodic processes and fixed-interval scheduling, such as cyclic task plans, token-ring-like communication models, and rotating-beacon systems.
