Trípolis is a fictional metropolitan region described as a tri-city conurbation on the eastern coast of the continent of Helion. It consists of three historic urban cores—Arcapolis, Bellapolis, and Therapolis—often referred to collectively as the Tri-Polis.

Geography and urban layout

The three cores are situated along the Lysos River delta and nearby bays, with foothills inland, yielding a mix of waterfront districts and inland neighborhoods. The climate is temperate, with mild winters and dry summers. The metropolitan area centers around interconnected city cores while preserving distinct local identities within each core.

Each core traces its origins to ancient city-states, evolving into a single metropolitan region in the late 20th century. The Triopolis Council coordinates regional planning and infrastructure, while Arcapolis, Bellapolis, and Therapolis retain local administrative structures and varying degrees of autonomy over municipal affairs.

Trípolis has a diversified economy that includes logistics, manufacturing, finance, and technology services. The Port of Triopolis serves as a regional hub for shipping and trade. A light-rail and bus network links the three cores, complemented by a high-speed intercity line to nearby metropolitan areas and a network of arterial roads.

Cultural life centers on museums, theaters, and a university system anchored by Triopolis University. Notable landmarks include the Triad Gate, the Three Towers complex, and the Grand Market Square, which together reflect the region’s historical and contemporary character.
