Transzplantálás

Transzplantálás, often referred to as transplantation, is a medical procedure that involves removing an organ or tissue from one person's body and placing it into the body of another person. This is typically done when a recipient's organ or tissue has failed or is severely damaged and can no longer perform its vital function. The goal of transplantation is to restore the recipient's health and quality of life by replacing the diseased or damaged part with a healthy one.

Organs that can be transplanted include kidneys, livers, hearts, lungs, pancreas, and intestines. Tissues that can be transplanted include corneas, skin, bone, and bone marrow. The donor can be either living or deceased. Living donors are often family members or close friends who donate an organ or part of an organ that can regenerate or that they can live without, such as a kidney or a lobe of the liver. Deceased donors are individuals who have been declared brain dead but whose organs are still viable for donation.

Transplantation is a complex process that requires a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals. It involves extensive evaluation of both the donor and recipient, precise surgical techniques, and lifelong management of immunosuppressant medications to prevent the recipient's body from rejecting the new organ or tissue. While transplantation can be life-saving, it also carries risks, including surgical complications, infection, and organ rejection. The success rates of transplantation have improved significantly over the years due to advancements in medical technology and drug therapies.
