Proponents argue that referential content is stabilized by long-standing service routines, roles, and ritualized exchanges more than by individual mental representations or purely descriptive cues.

It describes how specialized communities—such as hospitality, retail, or bureaucratic services—establish shared references through customary practices, scripts, and feedback loops that reward conformity with established meanings.
