Toulouse-Lautrec, born Alphonse Marie Laurens, was a French painter, printmaker, draughtsman, and illustrator whose immersion in the colorful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th century allowed him to produce a collection of often vivid images of the modern, pleasure-seeking, and hedonistic atmosphere of fin-de-siècle Paris. He was well known for his work "Moulin Rouge: La Goulue," which brought him widespread fame.
