Tohokus, also known as the Tohoku region, is a geographical area located in the northeastern part of Honshu, the largest island of Japan. It encompasses six prefectures: Aomori, Iwate, Miyagi, Akita, Yamagata, and Fukushima. The region is characterized by its diverse geography, featuring rugged coastlines along the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan, extensive mountain ranges including the Ou Mountains, and fertile inland plains.
