Throughshaft

Throughshaft refers to a mechanical arrangement in which a shaft passes completely through a component or housing, providing a direct drive path across the part. The shaft may be solid or hollow and is designed to transmit torque from one side of a assembly to the other with minimal intervening connections. Throughshaft configurations are used to improve alignment, reduce play, and simplify drivetrain layouts by allowing input and output elements to share a common axis.
