Threeband

Threeband refers to a group of damselfish belonging to the genus *Neoglyphidodon*. These fish are small, brightly colored marine species found in the Indo-Pacific region. As their name suggests, many species within this genus exhibit three distinct bands or markings on their bodies, though this is not universal and can vary with age and sex. Their coloration is often vibrant, ranging from yellow and orange to blue and black, making them popular in the aquarium trade.

*Neoglyphidodon* species are generally reef-associated and inhabit shallow, warm waters. They are known for their territorial behavior, especially during breeding seasons. Their diet consists mainly of algae and small invertebrates. While some species are more common than others, the genus as a whole is well-represented in the diverse coral reef ecosystems of the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
