Textilteil

Textilteil is a German term that denotes the textile part or component of a product or system. It is used as a generic designation for any element that is made from textile material, in contrast to non-textile components such as metal, plastic, or foam. The term combines Textil (textile) and Teil (part).

In textile engineering and composites, Textilteil refers to the textile reinforcement layer, such as woven, knitted, braided fabrics or nonwoven mats, embedded in a polymer matrix. This textile part provides strength, stiffness and impact resistance; properties vary with fiber type, weave, and orientation. The Textilteil is typically distinguished from the matrix material and is chosen to meet mechanical, thermal and chemical requirements.

In apparel, interiors, and consumer goods, Textilteil describes the fabric portion of a product, for example upholstery, garment fabric panels, or textile trims. It may be designed to satisfy aesthetics (color, texture) and performance (abrasion resistance, flame retardancy, wash durability).

In production and product documentation, Textilteil appears in bills of materials and product specifications as a variant element when different fabric choices are offered for the same product. Quality control often assesses textile parts separately to isolate defects in fibers, yarns, or fabrics.
