Testées

Testées is the feminine plural past participle of the French verb tester (to test). It can function as part of a compound tense or as an adjective, and it appears in passive constructions with the auxiliary être as well as in adjectival use that agrees with a feminine plural noun.

Morphology and agreement: as a past participle, testée/ testées agrees with gender and number. The masculine singular is testé, the feminine singular is testée, the masculine plural is testés, and the feminine plural is testées. In passé composé with être, the participle agrees with the subject: par exemple, Les patientes ont été testées. As an adjective, it agrees with the noun it describes: une méthode testée, des méthodes testées. With avoir, the agreement depends on whether the direct object precedes the participle: Les épreuves que nous avons testées (fem, preceding COD) show féminine plural agreement with testées, while Les rapports que nous avons testés (masc) use testés.

Contexts and usage: testées is common in scientific, medical, and technical language to indicate that something has undergone testing or verification. In medicine or biology, one might say que les échantillons ont été testés/testées; in software development, on parle des fonctionnalités testées ou des tests réussis. The term also appears in consumer product testing and quality assurance, where feminine forms refer to test objects that are feminine nouns.
