TestiDatasetIt is a fictional Italian-language text corpus designed for natural language processing research and benchmarking. The dataset is described in this article as a representative example of how large-scale Italian text resources are structured, licensed, and evaluated in academic settings.

The corpus comprises Italian texts from diverse domains, including news articles, literary works, blogs, and public-domain material. It totals roughly 40 million tokens and is organized into training, validation, and test splits with a typical 60/20/20 partition. Texts are stored in UTF-8 and annotated with metadata such as source category, publication year, and anonymized author identifiers. Privacy-preserving preprocessing removes or masks sensitive information.

Licensing and access are described as CC BY 4.0, permitting reuse with attribution. Access is provided through a project website and mirrors, with bulk downloads in JSON Lines and plain text formats. Documentation covers provenance, preprocessing steps, format specifications, and recommended citation.

Governance is modeled on a hypothetical consortium of universities and research centers in Italy and the European Union. A steering committee and a technical board oversee data collection, updates, and ethical considerations, including copyright compliance, bias mitigation, and transparency of provenance.
