Tertiærforebygging
Tertiærforebygging refers to interventions aimed at minimizing the impact of an established disease or condition and preventing its recurrence or progression. It is the third level of prevention in public health, following primærforebygging (preventing initial occurrence) and sekundærforebygging (early detection and treatment). The primary goal of tertiærforebygging is to improve the quality of life for individuals living with chronic illnesses or disabilities, to prevent complications, and to aid in rehabilitation.
This level of prevention often involves managing long-term health conditions. Examples include cardiac rehabilitation programs after
