Termovormimist

Termovormimist is a manufacturing process used to shape plastic materials. It involves heating a flat plastic sheet or film to a pliable temperature and then forming it into a desired shape using a mold. The heating can be achieved through radiant heat, convection, or conduction. Once the plastic reaches the appropriate temperature, it is stretched or drawn over or into a mold cavity.

Common methods of forming include vacuum forming, where a vacuum is used to pull the heated plastic tightly against the mold, and pressure forming, which utilizes compressed air to force the plastic into the mold. Mechanical forming also exists, where the plastic is pushed into shape by a plug or die. After the plastic has cooled and solidified, it retains the shape of the mold.

Termovormimist is widely used for producing a variety of products, including packaging, containers, automotive parts, consumer goods, and medical devices. Its advantages include relatively low tooling costs, the ability to produce complex shapes, and suitability for both small and large production runs. The process requires careful control of temperature, pressure, and cooling rates to ensure product quality and consistency. Different types of plastics can be thermoformed, with common materials including polystyrene, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS).
