Tamang
The Tamang are an indigenous ethnic group of Nepal, primarily inhabiting the central highlands and the Kathmandu Valley. They are concentrated in districts such as Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchok, and Dhading, with smaller communities across the country. Tamang groups are diverse, and there are several subgroups, including Western Tamang and Eastern Tamang, each with distinct customs and dialects. Tamang communities also exist in India (notably in Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal) and in parts of Bhutan and Sikkim.
