Tallentuan is a fictional nation-state created for speculative fiction and tabletop role-playing. It is depicted as a maritime republic located on a dispersed archipelago in the western seas, with a population in the low millions. The name reflects its coastal heritage and a legendary figure associated with unification of the islands.

The Tallentuan archipelago comprises twelve inhabited islands and numerous islets. The largest island, Tallon, houses the capital, Port Meridian. The climate is temperate, with rugged coastlines, fjord-like inlets, and dense forests. Main economic sectors include fisheries, shipbuilding, and, increasingly, renewable energy from wind and tidal power.

Tallentuan arose from maritime clans in the medieval era and gradually united under a constitutional framework. It established formal independence in the 19th century after resolving regional disputes and integrating trading communities. In the late 20th century it expanded political rights and joined regional environmental initiatives.

Tallentuan is a constitutional republic with a bicameral legislature. The executive consists of a prime minister and cabinet; a largely ceremonial president is elected by the legislature. Elections use proportional representation, and local governments administer regional affairs and public services.

The economy emphasizes maritime services, fishing, tourism, and clean energy. The currency is the tal. Social policy prioritizes education, health care, and environmental stewardship. Tallentuan maintains a cultural program around sea lore, lighthouse festivals, and crafts.
