TCXOs
A temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) is a type of crystal oscillator designed to minimize frequency drift caused by temperature changes. It provides better stability than a simple crystal oscillator (XO) but typically does not achieve the extreme stability of an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO). TCXOs are widely used where moderate temperature stability, small size, and lower cost are important.
Construction and operation typically involve a quartz crystal, an oscillator circuit, and a temperature compensation mechanism.
Performance characteristics vary with model and range. Many commercial TCXOs operate over -40 to +85 or -40
Applications include telecommunications equipment, GPS receivers, radio transceivers, test and measurement instruments, drones, and consumer electronics,
