Sünkhroonne

Sünkhroonne is a small municipality in the fictional country of Veridia, located in the Farbmark region. The town covers about 24 square kilometers and sits in a gentle valley along the Sünk River, surrounded by mixed forests and farmland. Elevation ranges from 150 to 210 meters above sea level. The population was about 2,400 in 2023, with a mix of native Veridians and a small immigrant community. The dominant language is Veridian, with local dialects spoken in rural areas.

History: The town originated in the late medieval period around a fortified manor and a bridge crossing the Sünk River. It gained municipal status in the 19th century and developed road connections in the 20th century, which helped local trade and schooling.

Economy: The local economy combines agriculture (grain and dairy), small-scale wood processing, and services. Tourism centers on rural landscapes, hiking trails, and historical architecture.

Governance: The town is administered by an elected municipal council and a mayor. The council has 12 members. As of 2024, the mayor is L. Amarin.

Culture and landmarks: Each year the Sun Festival celebrates harvest and daylight. Notable sites include Sünkhroonne Manor, the St. Elena Church, and the remnants of an ancient stone circle known as Old Ring.

Transport and education: Sünkhroonne is connected by regional roads to neighboring towns; there is no railway station. Local primary education is provided in-town; older students travel to nearby towns for secondary school. A small public library serves residents.
