Sömnrytmer
Sömnrytmer, often referred to as circadian rhythms, are internal biological processes that regulate the sleep-wake cycle over a roughly 24-hour period. These rhythms are influenced by a master clock in the brain called the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), which is located in the hypothalamus. Light is the primary external cue, or zeitgeber, that synchronizes these internal rhythms with the external environment. When light enters the eyes, it signals the SCN to promote wakefulness during the day and to prepare the body for sleep as darkness falls.
Disruptions to natural sömnrytmer can occur due to various factors, including shift work, jet lag, irregular
