Sävytystuotteet, often translated as toning products or color-depositing products, are cosmetics designed to alter or enhance the color of hair, skin, or nails. In haircare, these products are frequently used to counteract unwanted tones, such as brassiness in blonde hair or yellowing in grey hair, or to add subtle or vibrant new shades. They work by depositing temporary or semi-permanent pigments onto the surface or into the cuticle of the hair shaft. Shampoos, conditioners, masks, and sprays are common forms of hair toning products.

For skincare, toning products, more commonly known as toners, are typically applied after cleansing. Their primary purpose is to rebalance the skin's pH, remove any lingering impurities, and prepare the skin for subsequent products like serums and moisturizers. Some toners also offer specific benefits such as hydration, exfoliation, or soothing. They can contain ingredients like witch hazel, rose water, salicylic acid, or hyaluronic acid.

In nail care, toning products might refer to nail polishes or treatments designed to neutralize yellowing on nails or to provide a subtle color enhancement. These are usually formulated to be gentle on the nail bed. The effectiveness and longevity of toning products vary depending on the specific formulation, the base color being treated, and individual application.
