Säsjonsjustering, often translated as session adjustment, refers to the process of modifying or adapting the parameters of a psychological or therapeutic session to better meet the individual needs of a client. This concept is central to client-centered and flexible therapeutic approaches. It acknowledges that a one-size-fits-all model of therapy is rarely effective and that therapists must be prepared to alter their methods, pace, and focus as the session progresses.

The need for säsjonsjustering can arise from various factors. A client might experience a sudden emotional shift, introduce a new and unexpected topic, or demonstrate resistance to a particular therapeutic technique. In such instances, the therapist must be able to recognize the change in the client's state or needs and adapt their strategy accordingly.
