Szakközépiskolák

Szakközépiskolák, often translated as vocational secondary schools or technical schools, are a significant part of the Hungarian education system. These institutions offer a dual-track education, combining general academic subjects with specialized vocational training. Students typically attend szakközépiskolák after completing their primary education, usually around the age of 14. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for a specific trade or profession, providing them with practical skills and knowledge directly applicable to the workforce.

The vocational training component of szakközépiskolák can cover a wide range of fields, including but not limited to, mechanics, IT, healthcare, hospitality, and crafts. This hands-on learning often involves apprenticeships or practical sessions in workshops and laboratories.
