Szívbetegségük refers to heart disease in Hungarian. It is a broad term encompassing a range of conditions that affect the heart's structure and function. These conditions can include coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.

Coronary artery disease, often stemming from atherosclerosis, involves the buildup of plaque in the arteries that supply blood to the heart. This can lead to chest pain (angina) or a heart attack. Heart failure occurs when the heart cannot pump blood effectively enough to meet the body's needs. Arrhythmias are problems with the heart's electrical system, causing an irregular or abnormal heart rate. Valvular heart disease affects the heart valves, which control blood flow through the heart chambers.

Risk factors for heart disease are numerous and include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoking, a sedentary lifestyle, and a family history of heart disease. Early detection and management are crucial for preventing or mitigating the effects of these conditions. Lifestyle modifications, such as a healthy diet, regular exercise, and smoking cessation, are fundamental in both prevention and treatment. Medical interventions may include medications to manage blood pressure, cholesterol, and other risk factors, as well as surgical procedures like angioplasty or bypass surgery in more severe cases. Regular medical check-ups are important for individuals at risk or those experiencing symptoms.
