Syöpäkasvu

Syöpäkasvu, which translates to "cancer growth" in Finnish, refers to the uncontrolled proliferation of cancer cells that occurs in various types of cancer. This process involves the rapid division and multiplication of abnormal cells that can invade surrounding tissues and disrupt normal bodily functions.

At the cellular level, syöpäkasvu is characterized by the activation of cell growth and division signals, such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF). These signals can come from both normal cellular processes and external factors, such as hormones and growth factors produced by tumor cells.

Syöpäkasvu is often attributed to genetic mutations that disrupt normal cellular controls, leading to uncontrolled cell growth. In some cases, genetic alterations can also induce the production of growth factors and hormones that promote cellular proliferation.
