Swaledale
Swaledale is a Yorkshire dale, a valley carved by the River Swale in the northern part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in England. It is one of the most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales. The dale stretches from the high moorlands of the Pennines in the west to the Vale of York in the east. The upper reaches of Swaledale are rugged and remote, characterized by drystone walls, limestone pavements, and peat moorlands. As the dale descends, it becomes more pastoral, with fertile meadows and scattered farms.
