Sviatopolks
Sviatopolks refers to several rulers in Kievan Rus' and its successor states. The most prominent figure is Sviatopolk I of Kiev, also known as Sviatopolk the Accursed. He reigned as Grand Prince of Kiev from 1015 to 1019. His reign is notoriously marked by the murder of his half-brothers Boris and Gleb, who were canonized as saints by the Eastern Orthodox Church. Sviatopolk I is often depicted as a usurper, and his rule was challenged by his brother Yaroslav the Wise, who eventually defeated him.
