Superyacht

A superyacht is a privately owned, professionally crewed pleasure vessel designed for luxury living at sea. In common parlance it denotes a yacht larger and more elaborately outfitted than typical private yachts. While there is no universal legal threshold, the length is typically around 24 meters (about 80 feet) or more, with many examples extending well beyond 60 meters. Superyachts are built to order with customized interiors and a high level of onboard service.

Most are motor yachts, though sailing superyachts also exist at this size range. They usually have multiple decks and expansive exterior space, and are equipped with elaborate accommodations, formal dining areas, lounges, spas or gyms, cinemas, and large outdoor areas. Larger vessels include features such as swimming pools, helipads, and a variety of water toys. Construction relies on naval architecture, marine engineering, and interior design, with vessels built to classification society standards and registered under a flag state. Production times typically span two to five years, with leading yards in Europe and Asia, including Lürssen, Feadship, Benetti, Oceanco, Heesen, and others.
