Suoriteperusteisessa
Suoriteperusteinen opetussuhde, known as "suoriteperusteinen" in Finnish, is a pedagogical model focused on student achievement rather than participation. In this system, students receive a grade (suoritus) based on competence units (kielivalmius or yleiskoulutusormu) completed in a subject area. Each unit corresponds to a specific set of learning goals, analysis of performance, and the mastery level required for assessment. Teachers set learning trajectories that link individual units, encouraging sequential knowledge building and allowing students to progress when they demonstrate proficiency.
The system is part of Finland's broader emphasis on outcome and quality rather than a high-stakes examination.
