Sunbreak

Sunbreak is an expansion pack for the action role-playing game Monster Hunter Rise. It was developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows platforms. The expansion significantly increases the game's content, introducing a new region called the Kingdom, a variety of new monsters to hunt, and expanding the existing gameplay mechanics.

The narrative of Sunbreak centers around the player character's arrival in the Kingdom, a feudal nation threatened by a trio of powerful "Three Lords" monsters: Garangolm, Lunagaron, and Malzeno. These monsters exhibit a more aggressive and challenging behavior compared to those found in the base game. Players must defend the Kingdom by undertaking new quests, mastering advanced combat techniques, and crafting powerful new equipment.

Sunbreak introduces several new gameplay systems, including the introduction of Master Rank, a higher difficulty tier for hunts. It also adds new Wirebug abilities for all weapon types, allowing for more complex and dynamic combat maneuvers. The expansion also features a new set of companions known as Followers, who can join the player in hunts and offer support. The game's online multiplayer component is expanded to accommodate the new content. Sunbreak was released in June 2022.
