Similarly, a product that gains rapid early adoption may attract greater scrutiny, regulatory risk, or supply-chain stress, which can produce new failure modes even as initial metrics look favorable.

In practice, successfailure analysis appears in risk assessment, project evaluation, and strategic planning. It often involves mapping how positive outcomes shift the likelihood of other outcomes, using scenarios, dynamic scoring, or Bayesian reasoning. The goal is to anticipate unintended consequences of success and to balance competing objectives over time, recognizing that outcomes exist on a continuum rather than a simple binary.
