Strømningsfeltet

Strømningsfeltet, or flow field in English, is a concept used in physics and engineering to describe the behavior of a fluid or a gas. It represents the velocity of the fluid at every point in space and time. Imagine a river: at any given moment, each tiny particle of water has a specific speed and direction. A strømningsfelt is a mathematical representation of all these individual velocities throughout the entire river.

The concept is fundamental to understanding phenomena like weather patterns, ocean currents, and the aerodynamics of an airplane wing. By analyzing the strømningsfelt, scientists and engineers can predict how fluids will move, how forces will act upon them, and how they might interact with their surroundings. A strømningsfelt can be visualized as a collection of arrows, where the length and direction of each arrow indicate the velocity of the fluid at that particular point. In areas where the fluid is moving faster, the arrows will be longer. Where the fluid is still, the arrows will have zero length.
